Tewkesbury Park Hotel

Happy New Year all!

Loads of happening during December, between reviews, traveling, snow and moving to a new place….a lot going on.

Nevertheless We had some pretty cool days out there and here is one video I have to show you.

Some truly deserved days off from everything going on, took us to a little town called Tewkesbury, near Cheltenham (SouthEast of England) and we loved every bit of it.

Tewkesbury is a little medieval town with a 12th century tone, and in 1471, the fields to the south saw the penultimate and decisive battle in the Wars of the Roses leading the house of York to power.

In the past, Tewkesbury was known (still is as Mary Berry likes to use it) in mustard making, brewing and malting, pin making and the framework knitting of stockings, being a place of major industries.

The town itself has it’s story preserved, as the High Street can remember us, and the Hotel…well, the hotel was fabulous!

Tewkesbury Park Hotel

Tewkesbury Park is a Hotel and Golf course, with an amazing spa, excellent food and very friendly staff.

The Hotel has:

  • Family-owned, independent, meaning they can offer a tailored experience to the guest and visitor
  • has 93 bedrooms with premium features,
  • Leisure facilities including a hot tub and sun deck
  • Free WiFi and free parking
  • A battlefield to our name.
  •  an 18 hole, par 73 golf course
  • Dog Friendly in some rooms
  • A brand new Berkley Bar and outside Grill station
  • and the Orangery restaurant
  • Spa and warm pool
  • the Cotswold Suite & Berkley Bar, in which can you can have Wedding reception or any other cerimony, or even have a seminar and then have a break in the Berkley Bar.
  • And an amazing decor!

Plus the hotel was renovated the last year (well 2016/2017) and has an extra 9 Suites, called Historic Suites.

We stayed in one of those, and was called Lord Hastings.

Why Lord Hastings?

William Hastings, 1st Baron Hastings  (c. 1431 – 13 June 1483) was an English nobleman. A loyal follower of the House of York during the Wars of the Roses, he became a close friend and cousin of one of the most important courtiers of King Edward IV, whom he served as Lord Chamberlain. At the time of Edward’s death he was one of the most powerful and richest men in England.

Our Bedroom:

Huge Hipnos Bed and an extra bed for RJ, with a welcome gift…. but that Bathroom was the sweet thing for my eyes!

The room contains anything you need, from GHD hair dryer, to ironing board or an Nespresso and a wonderful tea and Coffee facility.

Every detail thought.

We Loved our stay there, with all the commodities and warmth that we found on our arrival and stay.

The Orangerie served us the most wonderful food, and has Children’s portions and menus. (see video)

Family oriented, nothing is a miss and my love for their decor has no end as I think it was one of the most elegant places – I could pretty easily live there!
