Where to stay in Liverpool

Liverpool has some good places to stay.
A city really touristy as it is, it didn’t surprised me with great hotels.

By recommendation of a friend, we, me and my family stayed in the Jurys Inn Hotel.
Jurys Inn is located in the newer area of Liverpool, 5 minutes on foot from the Albert Doc filled with restaurants, cafes and museums; Near the Echo arena and the Ferris Wheel.

I have to be honest: my expectations regarding Jurys’ was too high.

Note for Parents: If you have a baby, bring your own cot/playpen or bedding for your little one.

They have shampoo and shower gel

Breakfast was below average… at least they had soya milk but no ham (in none of the days I’ve stayed there…maybe the pigs migrated to another city… shouldn’t they keep some reserves?).

I noticed that a lot of plates brought from the kitchen were dirty and no one replaced them, it was very visible (you know when you take plates out of the dishwasher but still is food in it? that kind of dirty).

Food would finish and no one would top up from the kitchen… so you needed to wait around 30 minutes for them to bring more… nonsense when you have a hungry tot…

Dining in the Hotel restaurant could also have a little improvement: Is too expensive for a 3 star hotel and for the quality of the main courses… the desserts were ok.

The starters were good.

Hamburguer and in the back RJ’s salmon

Roast Chicken with a smashed potato in a bed of bacon and cabbage

Pork belly with new potatoes

My Lemon Posset and short bread cookies, in the back is a
chocolate brownie with vanilla Ice cream

Sticky Toffee Pudding with custard

Excellent location but…

I don’t think that Jurys Inn is bad, not at all!!

I think the Jurys Inn is a great and trusty brand, but the Liverpool management is bad, and that can be clearly seen on the staff and how the hotel works.

I really hope Jurys Inn in Liverpool can improve because I would like to return to Liverpool and stay there.

My rating:

Why 3:
Because some of the staff were friendly and the location was excellent and my room had an excellent view and I have a tiny hope Jurys Inn can improve in Liverpool.
Note: I paid with my own money. This is my honest opinion especially as a mother of a 1 year old.
