Fifty years after first opening its gates, Europa-Park has achieved a historic milestone. During its 2025 anniversary year, Germany’s largest theme park surpassed seven million visitors for the first time, setting a new attendance record and reinforcing its status as one of the country’s leading tourist destinations.
To put this into perspective, Europa-Park now attracts significantly more visitors annually than iconic German landmarks such as Cologne Cathedral and the world-famous Oktoberfest, both of which offer free entry.

From 250,000 to 7 Million Visitors
In the summer of 1975, 250,000 guests visited Europa-Park during its opening season. Half a century later, the park welcomed seven million guests in a single year.
Owner Roland Mack described the achievement as a powerful vote of confidence from loyal visitors who continue to return for the full resort experience, from attractions and themed areas to hospitality and entertainment.
Today, the Europa-Park Resort extends far beyond a traditional theme park model, offering a multi-day destination that includes:
- The immersive Rulantica water world
- The fine dining experience Eatrenalin
- Six 4-star (and 4-star superior) themed hotels
- Expanding camping and resort accommodation
2025 Anniversary Highlights
The anniversary year was marked by strategic expansion and entertainment innovation. Key milestones included:
- The first feature film produced by Mack, Grand Prix of Europe
- The interactive family attraction GRAND PRIX EDventure
- A 50th anniversary gala attended by celebrities and long-time partners
- Welcoming the resort’s 150 millionth guest in November
- Winning the Golden Ticket Award for “Best Theme Park Worldwide” for the tenth time
These achievements further solidified Europa-Park’s international competitiveness within the global theme park industry.

Rulantica Expansion

The former Europa-Park Camp Resort evolved into Silver Lake City, expanding on-site accommodation and increasing average guest length of stay.

What’s Coming in 2026
- The Riverside Western Lodge, with 119 rustic rooms, will open year-round.
- A new brewery serving freshly tapped Europa-Park beer alongside the Wild Horse Bar.
- Monaco will debut as the park’s 18th European-themed area, inspired by Mediterranean elegance and located around the Silver Star rollercoaster.
- Sally’s Café, launched by food creator Sally, will open in the Icelandic-themed area near the blue fire Dome.
Year-Round Destination
Europa-Park’s winter season continues through 18 January 2026. Meanwhile, Rulantica, Eatrenalin, and the resort’s 4* superior hotels remain open throughout the year, positioning the destination as a fully integrated, all-season resort experience.
Fifty years after welcoming its first guests, Europa-Park has not only grown in scale but in scope, transforming from a regional theme park into one of Europe’s most competitive leisure destinations.
