This is quite a good news for me.
Imagine combining Jewellery and tech for a Healthy living? Take a look at this.
Dutch designer Daan Roosegaarde and his team of experts have created the world’s largest smog vacuum cleaner. The Smog Free Tower uses patented ion technology to produce smog-free air in public space, allowing people to breathe and experience clean air for free.
The Smog Free Tower equipped with environment-friendly and patented ozon free ion technology cleans 30.000m3 per hour without ozon, runs on green wind energy and uses no more electricity than a waterboiler (1170 watts).
Creating a tangible souvenir, Roosegaarde designed Smog Free Rings, Smog Free Cubes and Smog Free Cufflinks of compressed smog particles. By sharing Smog Free Jewellery, you donate 1000m3 of clean air to the city.
The Smog Free Project is not only intended to be a local solution for parks, but also an inspirational experience of a clean future. Along with governments, NGOs, pro-bicycle campaigns and the clean-tech industry, people can work together to make a whole city smog free.
The Smog Free Tower in Beijing opens September 29 at 751 D-Park Power Square (751动力广场) in Beijing, and is supported by China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection. Smog Free Rings now available via mail@studioroosegaarde.net.
Partners: Made possible with the kind support of the China Central Government, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China, Win World, City of Rotterdam, Stichting Doen and Port of Rotterdam. The Smog Free Project is developed by Daan Roosegaarde in collaboration with the engineers and designers of Studio Roosegaarde, ENS Technology and early advisor Ursem (till 2013).
Smog Free Jewellery
Following the successful Autumn launch of the Smog Free Project in China, Daan Roosegaarde and his team of experts release a new edition of Smog Free Jewellery to celebrate its Beijing chapter. The new limited edition of the Smog Free Jewellery is made of smog collected from the Smog Free Tower in Beijing as a tangible souvenir of the Smog Free Project. By sharing Smog Free Jewellery, you donate 1000 m3 of clean air. Rings, cubes and cufflinks are individually crafted by Roosegaarde’s team in the Netherlands and unique in the world.
Roosegaarde’s Smog Free Jewellery is a popular gift around the world by design, tech, fashion and green enthusiasts, and are even used as engagement and wedding rings. The Smog Free Project reflects Roosegaarde’s ethos for a clean future, whereby citizens are part of the solutions instead of the problem.
Christmas list (for next year of course) is updated!
