Clariel (The Old Kingdom) by Garth Nix (Review)

Publishing in paperback in June 2015, Clariel is the highly anticipated prequel to Garth Nix’s hugely successful Old Kingdom series. A must-read for all Game of Thrones fans, the book follows the adventures of the sixteen-year-old titular character, Clariel as she battles with her new life in the city of Belisaere.

Sixteen-year-old Clariel is not adjusting well to her new life in the city of Belisaere, the capital of the Old Kingdom. She misses roaming freely within the forests of Estwael, and she feels trapped within the stone city walls. It seems, too, that the city itself is descending into chaos, as the ancient rules binding Abhorsen, King and Clayr appear to be disintegrating. With the discovery of a dangerous Free Magic creature loose in the city, Clariel is given the chance both to prove her worth and make her escape.

But events spin rapidly out of control. Clariel finds herself more trapped than ever, until help comes from an unlikely source – and at a terrible cost. Clariel must question the motivations and secret hearts of everyone around her – and it is herself she must question most of all.

My Opinion:
Definetly for a Game of Thrones fan (such as myself!).
It’s not because is a 16 year old character (if you read the actual books of GoT you would be amazd by the age of the characters, such as Robb Stark in the 1st book he is only 14 years old).
This book, in my opinion, is more for a Teen than a kid to read since you have a teenager in the role but is PG so any age can read it.
Garth Nix is an author to watch and probably wait for a movie.
