This books remind me when I was a Teen and had my own diary with “nonsense” written, but for me was my world.
The Story
The Queen of the Dorks is back in a brand new installment of the internationally bestselling series, now with 13 million copies in print worldwide! After a bump on the head, Nikki has a wild dream in which she, her BFF’s Chloe and Zoey, her crush Brandon, and mean girl Mackenzie all end up playing the roles of some familiar classic fairy tale characters. Will Nikki’s dream turn into a nightmare?

My Review
How refreshing! For young girls, since Nikki, the Dork main character is a normal 8th grader with her bratty little sister Brianna (this story reminds me someone…hey sis?) and her adventures n the teen years, where a simple stain in the sweater means the end of the world and embarrassment in front of the whole school, her crush will support her but to be even worse her archenemy will make it worse to the point that Nikki will travel to a land far away, the land of fantasy tales… Will Nikki be a princess and have a happy ending with Prince Charming or will she prefer her crush Brandon?
Rachel is amazing drawing, since this author writes and draws all the characters.
This collection is a must have to all the girls in the girls, very sweet and simple…and oh so funny!
If you like the Manga style, where Rachel won’t disappoint you.
The best thing I read in a book that I even took a picture and I think I will use it very often:
“It has the IQ of a belly button lint!” (BRILLIANT!!)
Just a curiosity: Rachel’s daughter is called Nikki.

About the Author
Rachel Renee Russell is a lawyer who prefers writing children’s books to legal briefs (mainly because books are a lot more fun and pajamas and bunny slippers aren’t allowed in court). She has raised two daughters and lived to tell about it. Rachel lives in northern Virginia with a spoiled pet Yorkie who terrorizes her daily by climbing on top of her computer and pelting her with stuffed animals while she writes. And, yes, Rachel considers herself a total Dork.
