Inside this March Box:
Shreddies Max Granola
Those nans are going to be so happy with the granola. Brand new granola will all the flavour and taste from Shreddies.
Cirio Tomato Pure
In my house there is one thing we have to have in stock always: Tomato pure, from a good brand and great quality for our Italian homemade food. See my recipe below.
Mr Lee's Noodles
I do love noodles and it's always nice to know a new brand (at least for me). Easy to make and practical for those days when you don't have much time to eat in the office or on the go. Great taste and they have a large variety of flavours.
Cheestrings and Hafervoll
Here is a tip for a snack on the go or a lunch bag snack:
the Cheestrings new mix up, is a snack containing cheese cubes, a sweet snack and a savoury snack, 3 in 1 (Degustabox sent a voucher so we picked it up on our nearest supermarket), and pair up with the Hafervoll Flapjack full of excellent nutrients to give you fibre and energy. Excellent snacks!
Encona in Carolina reaper chilli
Encona we love you here at home. This is the brand new flavour and they say it's the hottest chilli they have in their collection. I do believe that, but Encona we need a stronger chilli! (because... I am South American). This chilli has a lovely smoked flavour and it tastes soooo good!
Canny Chocolate drink in the fridge and made everyone's (lazy) day got better. A proper chocolate milk with no additives or strange sweeteners or sugars. We loved it!
Appy Kids Co Roahl Dahl juice in Orange
Little RJ loved it! Keep it fresh in the fridge or even better, keep it on your bag for when you go to the park with the children. They will love it. P.s - doesn't taste like artificial.
TENZING Natural Energy
A natural energy drink? I haven't really tried it, as we don't drink energy drink but promise I will give it a try. For reviews I have read, it doesn't taste chemical as they have natural sweeteners and everyone loves it.
Ribena squash in Passion Fruit and mango
This was a success here at home! Finally a squash that doesn't have peach (I am extremely allergic to peach...like anaphylaxis type) and almost every squash has peach (I do hate blueberry squash...too sweet). This one was fresh and with tropical flavours just like I like. Big glass of squash with ice cubes made the days get better... try it with a bit of vodka (naughty suggestion.....shush!)
OUR LOVED ONE!! Smarties and Milkybar Mini Eggs
What a treat! Combine 2 of our favoruites in the superb mini eggs! Guaranteed a sugar rush but happiness in a bag!
My Bolognese Mince meat:
This is a very basic recipe that goes in a second here at home.
I use this recipe for any Italian dish that has mince meat: lasagna, cannelloni, Spag Bol, etc.
Ingredients:
500gr of mince meat (or quorn mince for a vegan dish)
Cirio Tomato Pure
salt and white pepper
garlic and onion
2 Tbsp of Olive oil
Oregano leaves
Bay leaves
2 large tomatoes diced
1 Oxo/Maggi cube (I prefer chicken)
To prepare:
Add the olive oil in a sauce pan
wash your bay leaves and add in the pan, along with the diced tomatoes and the oregano (this will release the aromas from the leaves)
Add the mince meat – mix and separate the meat while mixing.
add garlic and onion and salt and pepper, plus with Maggi or oxo cube
When the meat is brown, and cooked, add the Cirio Pure and leave it for at least 20 minutes in a medium fire.
If you’re doing Vegan (as I sometimes do):
Substitute the stock for a vegan stock and use either quorn mince or any mince meat substitute like dehydrated Soya or Seitan.
